Moldovan head of state informs adults to be able to study Romanian language for free as of 2023 year

Chisinau, 26 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu welcomes an initiative by the Education Ministry, under which, starting from the 2023 year, adults will benefit from free of charge courses of learning the Romanian language.
According to the presidential press service, the ‘’the national programme of teaching the Romanian language for people who speak other languages was extended, in order to include courses for adults as well, and 10 million lei was envisaged on this purpose in the budget for 2023,’’ the head of state said.
The cabinet is to adopt a government decision, due to clarify the details of this programme. ’’In the next years, we will extend the programme, in order to better cover the needs of teaching the Romanian language for adults,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
The programme on teaching the Romanian language for people who speak other languages was launched in 2013, at an initiative by the Education Ministry. Till this year, the programme has been financed insufficiently and provided only for the organization of Romanian language courses for children.
