About 18,000 people call ambulance in Moldova in last week

Chisinau, 27 December /MOLDPRES/ - The emergency medical assistance teams in the last week provided the first medical aid to 17,959 people, of whom 4,581 children.
According to the National Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance Centre (CNAMUP), last week, people most often called ambulance for respiratory diseases – over 5,900 calls, of whom 3,500 children. A number of 3,470 calls were made on grounds of acute viral respiratory infections, of which 2,233 cases in children.
Also on the same period, 3,400 people appealed with cardiovascular emergencies, 2,000 – with neurological pathologies, of whom 263 with cerebral vascular accidents and 1,079 with various injuries.
A number of 115 people with infectious diseases, 81 with injuries in the wake of traffic accidents and 49 with toxic emergencies needed help. Also, 35 emergencies triggered by physical, chemical and environmental agents, of which 22 combustions, five hypothermia cases and two chilblains, were registered.
Following the providing of the emergency medical assistance 6,241 patients, of whom 1,785 children, were carried to hospital.
