South Development Region of Moldova to implement more cooperation projects with foreign partners in 2023

Chisinau, 9 January /MOLDPRES/ - The South Regional Development Agency (ADR Sud), in partnership with the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry, in 2023 will continue to cooperate with the European Union, World Bank, German Federal Government and Germany’s Development Bank (KfW), government of Romania, Polish Ministry of Investments and Economic Development, the Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova, etc., in order to jointly carry out more investment measures.      

According to the institution, priority will be the sectors of rehabilitation and modernization of the infrastructure of supply with water and sanitation, competitiveness, urban development, etc.  

„Just as in 2022, the main strategic goals of ADR Sud for this year remain the enhancement of the competitiveness and employment of the South Development Region, increasing the territorial cohesion and prevention of exclusion. The institution is also set to improve the mechanisms and instruments of implementation of the regional development policy through operational optimization of the process of implementing this policy, strengthening the mechanism of financing regional development projects and developing the capacities of the regional actors in the sectors relevant for the regional development policy,’’ ADR Sud said.     

The 2022 year was one which brought major investments in the South Development Region. The overall value of investments in southern Moldova in 2022 amounted to about 200 million lei (about 10 million euros), of which about 183.5 million lei is allocated from the National Fund for Regional and Local Development.
