Moldovan PM, mayors from Glodeni district discuss construction of aqueduct due to supply over 100 settlements with drinking water from Iasi

Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/ - Specific solutions for the supply of the Glodeni district with drinking water were discussed at a today’s meeting between Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita and representatives of the local public administration (APL) of this district. Four towns of Moldova, Glodeni, Nisporeni, Ungheni, Falesti, and about 100 communes will benefit from water of Romania. At the same time, the works of extending the aqueduct from Iasi will be carried out based on a recently approved agreement, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
At the meeting with the APL representatives, the PM discussed opportunities of development of the Glodeni district, as well as solutions to overcome the most pressing problems faced by the residents from the region. The prime minister said that, to enhance the authorities’ receptiveness to the citizens’ needs and boost the cooperation between the local and public administration and the central one, the governmental team members will go to the territory at least twice per month.
„We have already established a schedule of the meetings of the ministries with the local authorities and citizens, as only the communication and team work will bring the results expected by the people. Transparently, democratically, according to European criteria, we will invest together in the development of the regions, so that each man wants to remain in Moldova and brings up his/her children here, at home,’’ Natalia Gavrilita said.
The PM referred to the cabinet’s efforts to create better conditions for living all over the country. She noted that the collections from taxes for roads’ use would be allocated to the local budgets, in form of transfers with special purpose and this money will be able to be used for paying salaries to the people from the region.
The APL representatives touched upon also other fields, in which the involvement of the central public authorities would be necessary, among which roads’ reconstruction, implementation of efficient measures for the waste management and carrying out of new projects in this respect.
