Chisinau, 15 January /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita has conveyed a message on the occasion of the National Culture Day, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The message reads:
„Today, when the 173rd birthday anniversary of poet Mihai Eminescu is marked, we mark the National Culture Day. This is a special occasion of the entire society’s cohesion around the cultural, spiritual and intellectual values of our nation.
No matter whether we live inside or outside the borders of Moldova, the culture is the binder which connects destiny with destiny and defines us as nation. From one hemisphere of the world to another, our citizens sing Yellow Quince by Adrian Paunescu, listen to the famous song, My Sweet and Tender Beast, signed by master Eugen Doga, recite poems by Grigore Vieru and Dumitru Matcovschi, read Adventures of Guguta by Spiridon Vangheli, admire paintings by Igor Vieru, Mihail Grecu and of Valentina- Rusu-Ciobanu, are proud of the talent of Mihai Volontir and of all people of culture who brought our fame in the world.
The culture starts from home, from the family. It is hidden in gestures and words, in the way of marking holidays, in our style of singing. The culture is worn through national shirts, sewed scrupulously by our grandmothers, through the traditional lamb caps and sandals.
Dear people of culture,
Today, there is also an occasion to express our gratitude to You, those who dedicate their lives to this field: writers, actors, librarians, booksellers, teachers and managers of cultural institutions. I wish you to have personal achievements, inspiration and good health. I wish myself and I wish you peace and for you to be able to create in a peaceful and harmonious environment.’’
