Exhibition of old, rare books inaugurated at Moldova's National Library

Chisinau, 16 January /MOLDPRES/ - The National Library of Moldova (BNRM), in cooperation of the National Agency of Archives, today inaugurated an exhibition titled, Old Travelling Books, in the context of the National Culture Day.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the BNRM section of old and rare books, the exhibition’s curator Veronica Cosovan said the exhibition pointed out old religious books from the period of the 17th-19th centuries; these books were earlier part of libraries of monasteries and churches from Moldova, which during time became heritage assets preserved in collections of Moldovan culture institutions, in this case, the collections of Moldova’s National Library and National Agency of Archives.

According to Cosovan, 50 books are displayed at the exhibition.

The exhibition will be opened till 31 March.
