Chisinau, 9 Feb. /MOLDPRES/- The problem of increasing prices for glass packaging was discussed yesterday by wine producers, leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the Competition Council and the Chisinau Glass Factory. The sides considered several solutions, including support from the state and the creation of opportunities for glass recycling.
According to the winemakers, in the last period, the price for a bottle of glass has doubled, which causes the shelf price of wines to increase.
For their part, the representatives of the Glass Factory claim that the production process requires a large volume of energy resources and in the context of the current crises, the factory registers significant expenses for their procurement. "The Republic of Moldova is dependent on the import of raw materials, and currently it is difficult to import raw materials, due to the disruption of the logistics chains," explains the company.
"The parties analyzed several solutions that could facilitate economic activities in the wine and glass industries. The authorities are to examine support measures from the state and the creation of opportunities for glass recycling", said the Ministry of Agriculture.
Several wine producers, who use automatic bottling lines, mainly choose glass containers.
