About 100 influenza cases registered in Moldova last week

Chisinau, 14 February /MOLDPRES/ - The National Public Health Agency (ANSP) has informed that 97 cases of seasonal influenza and 11,256 ones of acute respiratory infections had been registered in the last week.    

According to ANSP, most cases – 77 – were recorded in Chisinau, followed by Causeni – four cases, Balti and Calarasi – three cases each, Briceni, Cahul, Edinet, Nisporeni, Stefan Voda and Taraclia – one case each. No deaths were registered because of flu.   

On the same period, the number of viroses grew by 11.7 per cent against the week before, with 11,256 cases recorded, of which 4,078 (36 per cent) in the Chisinau city. As much as 59 per cent out of all people sick with respiratory infections are children up to 14 years of age.    

A number of 1,539 cases of influenza and 192,532 ones of acute respiratory infections have been registered since last October so far.  

ANSP specialists recommend that the residents observe the prophylaxis measures, in order to avoid the diseases and prolongation of the morning sanitary filter in early education institutions.
