Moldovan president meets International Labor Organization director-general

Chisinau, February 15 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu had a meeting with Director-General of the International Labor Organization (ILO) Gilbert F. Houngbo, in Chisinau, and discussed the situation on the labor market in Moldova, including in the context of the war in Ukraine and refugees coming to our country, the presidential press service has reported.
Maia Sandu thanked for the ILO's support for reforming institutions and improving labor legislation, as well as expanding employment opportunities. At the same time, the authorities' efforts to combat undeclared work, by launching the "Moldova goes white" campaign were also discussed, as well as the application of concrete mechanisms to support employers.
They also approached reforming the institutions that regulate the labor market - the State Labor Inspectorate and the National Employment Agency, efforts due to increase the level of social security, but also the quality and diversity of the labor market.
