Moldovan deputy PM for reintegration meets Romanian premier's counselor

Chisinau, 23 February /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian has had a meeting with State Counselor on Foreign Relations, Security and Strategic Affairs of the Romanian Prime Minister Iulian Chifu.
According to the Reintegration Policies Bureau, the officials exchanged opinions on the regional security situation, in the context of the war in Ukraine. The sides tackled also the latest developments in the process of negotiations on the Transnistrian conflict settlement. Oleg Serebrian evoked especially the efforts undertaken by the country’s constitutional authorities to ensure the stability and security in Moldova, by maintaining the dialogue within the agreed upon limits at negotiations.
The deputy PM stressed that the goals of Moldova’s reintegration policies remained focused on the peaceful and comprehensive settlement of the conflict, by providing every needed assistance to Moldova’s citizens on the left bank of Dniester and Bender city, with the preservation of the European integration perspective.
In the context, the sides tackled also the subject on the latest amendments to the criminal legislation, which regard the separatism. The Moldovan official emphasized that the amendments would not affect the process of negotiations and were not aimed against the citizens from the region.
