Chisinau, 25 February /MOLDPRES/ - The General Police Inspectorate (IGP) will boost the measures of supervision and control on public roads. Starting from today, more crews will patrol all over Moldova. The decision was taken after serious traffic accidents had occurred on the last period, in the wake of which more people were injured or even died.
In the context, IGP asked drivers to show a proper behavior, if they are stopped in traffic by police agents and comply with their indications.
„The communication on prevention does not yield the results expected and drivers are more afraid of fine or losing the driver’s licence than of killing a man just in one second. We repeatedly come up with a call to responsibility and attention and those who put at risk the participants in the traffic will be punished under the law,’’ reads a press release issued by IGP.
According to the law-enforcers, the main reasons which lead to accidents are the exceeding the speed limit and the speed non-adapted to the traffic’s conditions, irresponsibility, driving drunk, non-ensured outrunnings, use of mobile phone while driving and failure to give priority to pedestrians.
The Interior Ministry today asked the national police to foster the measures of supervision and control on the public roads.
