Customs Service collected over 656 million lei last week

Chisinau, February 27 /MOLDPRES/- On 20-26 February the Customs Service collected over 656.2 million lei (about 32.8 million euros) to the state budget.

According to the institution, private peole introduced goods whose value in customs exceeds the non-taxable limit, and payments amounting to more than 18.2 million lei were collected, which represents 2.8% of the total amount collected. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.

At the same time, during the past week, 12,126 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport constituted 68,694 crossings.

In the fight against fraud, 65 violations of the customs legislation were found and fines in the amount of over 216 thousand lei were applied.

Since the beginning of the current year, the Customs Service has collected about 5.1 billion lei from the state budget, 14.4% more compared to the same period last year.
