Fourteen companies of Moldova to receive grants worth up to 500,000 lei for backing digital innovations

Chisinau, 27 February /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 14 innovating business ideas in the digital or technological fields will access grants worth up to 500,000 lei through a programme managed by the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA). The overall sum of the grants is of about 5.65 million lei (over 282,000 euros).
Those 14 businesses selected within the programme on support of digital innovations and technological Startups will be focused on such activity sectors as telemedicine, tourism, processing industry and waste recycling services. The beneficiaries of grants will have to come up with their own contribution of 20 per cent of the investment project’s value.
„The digital technologies and innovations represent the type of businesses we must support. We want to have a continuous communication with all winners – young people, entrepreneurs, innovators, who ruled to dare to develop a business at home, in order to identify as many solutions as possible to increase the businesses, to innovate them and get them abroad as much as possible,’’ Deputy Prime Minister, Economic Development and Digitalization Minister Dumitru Alaiba said.
The programme on support of digital innovations and technological startups was launched by ODA in October 2022. Seventy applications were received within the first call of projects of the programme, held in November-December 2022. Fourteen of the most innovating ideas were selected following the final assessment.
The implementation of the programme’s actions are financed from the state budget and backed through the Future Technologies Activity project, financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and government of Sweden.
