Moldovan writer paid homage at 75th birthday anniversary

Chisinau, 27 February /MOLDPRES/ - The National Museum of Romanian Literature, in partnership with the Moldovan Writers’ Union, today organized an exhibition and literary show titled, The Writers of the series of the 1970s. Group portrait: Nicolae Rusu, 75, thus paying homage to prose writer Nicolae Rusu at his 75th birthday anniversary.
Attending the event were President Maia Sandu and her mother, Emilia Sandu. Contacted by MOLDPRES, the aforementioned museum’s director, Maria Sleahtitchi, said the exhibition showed the life and work of Nicolae Rusu in books, manuscripts, documents, letters, fine art, photographs.
Prose writer Nicolae Rusu was born in the Risipeni village, western Falesti district, on 26 February 1948. During 1966-1970, Rusu studied at the Economics Faculty of the Chisinau-based Poly-technical Institute and in 1983-1985, he attended courses of the Higher Literature School of the Maxim Gorki Literature Institute from Moscow. Starting from 1987 so far, the writer has been director of the Literary Fund of the Moldovan Writers’ Union.
Nicolae Rusu published his first book in 1978.
The prose writer was awarded more literary prizes from Moldova and Romania.
The exhibition, The Writers of the series of the 1970s, could be visited till 3 January 2024 and the Group portrait, dedicated to Nicolae Rusu – till 30 March 2023.
