Parliament speaker pays working visit to north Moldova city

Chisinau, 9 March /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu paid a working visit to the northern Soroca city today. The official met residents of the communes Badiceni, Solcani, Cusauti and Soroca city, the parliament’s communication and public relations has reported.
The speaker informed the Soroca residents about the priorities of the parliament’s agenda, about the economic and social situation in Moldova. The participants in the discussions paid special attention to the problems of the communities – supply with water and sewerage, good roads, modern public transport.
The Soroca district benefited from 18 local development projects worth about 68 million lei. The parliament speaker informed the people that, for this year, money had been earmarked from the state budget to repair the R14 road Soroca-Otaci. Also, money was allocated to launch a draft study, which will supply Soroca with water in several years. ‘’I was sorry to hear that these three communes had not benefited from projects within the European Village Programme. I encouraged them to necessarily apply at the next appeal, due to be launched soon,’’ Igor Grosu said.
The parliament speaker answered questions by people from the northern region about the justice from Moldova. The Soroca residents demanded that all those who had stolen the state should pay for this. ‘’The justice reform will not stop, even if we are sabotaged, we will continue. This train called the justice reform does not stop; either you get onboard it, or you remain on platform,’’ Igor Grosu stressed.
The discussions were focused also on the lack of labour force and the Soroca residents asked the authorities to provide an as fair and efficient as possible distribution of the social assistance. ‘’I left for Chisinau with quite good impressions; our people back us in the reforms underway and in our European integration process,’’ the parliament speaker added.
