Chisinau, March 10. /MOLDPRES/- Government decision on setting up Chisinau Regional Development Agency was published in the Official Journal today.

Thus, the localities within the Chisinau municipality will be able to access national and external funds for regional development, just like other cities and municipalities in the country. ADR Chisinau will be created as a public institution, whose founder is the regional development policy drafting authority.

The decision sees that representatives of civil society and private sector, selected by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, will be members of the regional development councils. In the case of ADRs for Gagauzia and for Chisinau municipality, the regional development councils will include the bashkan/mayor of the capital, the heads of local supraterritorial entities/a representative of the municipal council and three mayors.

To finance the expenses for the organization and operation of ADR Chisinau the sources provided for in the State Budget Law for the National Fund for Regional and Local Development will be used.
