Moldovan education ministry launches national stage of Teacher of the Year national contest

Chisinau, 20 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Education and Research Ministry (MEC) on 20 March – 12 April organizes the national stage of the contest, Teacher of the Year, for those three categories of teachers: educators, teachers and professors from gymnasiums and lyceums. Fifty five teachers from all over Moldova will participate in the contest.     

The contest is at its 17th issue. Its goal is to motivate and encourage teachers to aspire to excellence, disseminate good educational practices, to become models for disciples, colleagues and society, thus contributing to the enhancement of the prestige of the profession of teacher.  

The national stage will be held in two stages.  

Based on the contest’s results, three places will be given for each category of teachers: Professor of the Year, Teacher of the Year, Educator of the Year. The winners of the prize I will get the trophy, Teacher of the Year and by one money prize worth 50,000 lei (2,500 euros). The holders of the prize II will get a prize of 25,000 lei and the holders of the third place will receive 15,000 lei each.
