Moldova receives about 283.3 million lei to provide compensations in invoice

Chisinau, 21 March /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova today received about 283.3 million lei (over 1.4 million euros) from contributions by Sweden and Switzerland for providing compensations in invoice to the most vulnerable households.
According to the Finance Ministry, the installment worth 283,298, 088.38 lei has been disbursed on the account of this ministry. This financial support will ensure the providing of compensations by using the public mechanism, Energy vulnerability reduction fund.
The non-refundable financial resources were announced by the governments of Sweden and Switzerland within the ministerial conference, Moldova Support Platform, held in Paris on 21 November 2022 and put at the disposal through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The financial resources were planned in the state budget for this year.
The energy vulnerability reduction fund was established by Moldova’s government with the financial support of the European Union and government of Slovakia.
