About 1.2 million households benefit from state compensation during cold period

Chisinau, March 22. /MOLDPRES/- About 1.2 million households benefit from state compensation for gas, thermal energy and electricity during the cold period of the year.

According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, for December, as part of the population support program, the Government offered energy compensations of about 703.3 million lei (around 35.1 million euros), and for January – around 634.3 million lei.

In total, for the first three months of the cold season, approximately 2.19 billion lei were allocated.

Energy compensations are granted from the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund, which is supplemented from the state budget and donations from international partners and governments of other states.
