Museums of Future to provide visitors with interactive, complex cultural experience in Moldova

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/ - The museums from Moldova, in will become spaces of the future in just several months. The museums will host digital installations, immersive and new-media art exhibitions, so that visitors enjoy interactive and complex cultural experiences. Nine teams, made up of museums, artists and professionals from the creative industry, have got jury’s approval and the needed financial support for the implementation of the innovating projects proposed. The winners will receive 200,000 euros in all, in order to implement the creative concepts selected within the Museums of the Future programme.
The initiative is implemented by Artcor, COR Creative Companies’ Association, under the aegis of the Culture Ministry, with the support of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Sweden, the United Kingdom, through the Future Technologies Activity Project and the Rural Competitiveness and Resilience Project.
Attending the event, Culture Minister Sergiu Prodan said that the museums from Moldova were extraordinary platforms for cooperation and the symbiosis of the cultural elements, as well as for the presentation of art and history in the new form. ‘’The world is changing quite quickly and we should occupy our place in this trend named ‘’the modern society’’. We cannot afford to wait and, through this project, we try to open a door, including to the business sector. One cannot develop without creativeness and business,’’ Minister Sergiu Prodan stressed.
The Museums of the Future Programme is set to enhance the visibility of the cultural institutions for the integration of innovations, modernization of spaces and monetization of visitors’ experiences. The technologies represent a catalyst for the traditional sectors, such as tourism, culture, history, as well as instrument of unveiling the identity and past. Technology helps museums better attract visitors, who are to explore the culture through digital instruments.
Nine wineries, 23 museums from all over Moldova, 100 artists and professionals from the creative industry have been registered at the project, who will present their ideas at the Pitching Day. So far, the teams have benefited from mentoring and trainings for working out joint projects. The winner teams of the Museums of the Future Programme are: Casa Imago and the National Museum of Romanian Literature, NRG Publicis Moldova and the National Ethnography and Natural History Museum, ArtWatt Association of Alternative Arts and the National Art Museum of Moldova, film director Alecu Deleu and the Purcari winery, Blue Frame and the museums from the settlements Horesti, Truseni, Sofia, Mereni, Calarasi, Taraclia, Prospera and Class of Future, Artists Kate Grigorieva și Mihai Stamate and the National History Museum of Moldova, Racketa Production and the National Ethnography and Natural History Museum, Ogilvy Moldova and the National History Museum of Moldova.
Among the ideas selected, there are projects which integrate immersive experiences, Projection Mapping, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and other innovating technologies available. On the immediately next period, the teams will benefit from mentoring sessions for giving final touches to ideas and for implementing the projects.
