Gymnasium from central Moldova village renovated with Japan's support

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/ - The gymnasium from the Mereseni village, central Hancesti district, has been renovated through a project financed by the government of Japan, within the Kusanone Programme.
The grant worth 90,000 dollars was used for the repair of the sanitary units, renovation of the heating system, change of the electricity network and the ventilation system and the setting of new windows. The project will contribute to the ensuring of the health and security of 110 pupils, 21 teachers and auxiliary employees of the institution, as well as the enhancing of the energy security.
Attending the ceremony on the finishing of the project on improvement of the education environment at the Mereseni village gymnasium was also Ambassador of Japan to Moldova Yamada Yoichiro. ‘’Once Moldova becomes European Union member, the country will fully turn to account the formidable potential of human resources, as never before. Once Russia’s aggression war against Ukraine is over, we will see the true revival of Moldova,’’ Ambassador Yamada Yoichiro said. Pupils, teachers and the administration of the gymnasium, representatives of the Hancesti District Council and the Mereseni commune’s mayoralty participated in the event as well.
The Kusanone programmes of grants for human security was launched in Moldova in 2008. So far, Japan has provided non-refundable financing worth 6.9 million dollars for 82 projects in the education, health and public utilities sectors.
