Prime Minister meets members of National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova

Chisinau, March 23 /MOLDPRES/- Priorities in the social-economic protection of employees were discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Dorin Recean and members of the National Trade Union Confederation of Moldova, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
He said that the authorities remain focused on increasing productivity, encouraging honest work and increasing the salary level in the public sector. He pointed out that trade unions can become a partner of the government in carrying out this endeavour.
"Our goal is to use taxpayers' resources rationally, and union representatives can help us contribute to the development of work culture, support employees in negotiating working conditions and their professional growth. We want employers to invest in the professional training of employees and guarantee their rights. It is in the interest of society that every person can achieve their economic and social rights", said Recean.
During the discussions, the union leaders appreciated the Government's openness to dialogue and communication, noting that the unions want to contribute to the economic growth of the country and its accelerated integration into the European family. At the same time, the representatives of the unions referred to several topics of importance for employees, including the need to increase the minimum wages, but also the increase of remuneration in the health and education. They also discussed the fight against undeclared work, the importance of activating the Commission for consultations and collective negotiations at the branch level, as well as the need to abolish the state registration fee that trade union organizations are obliged to pay.
