Moldovan authorities to exchange experience with United Kingdom in public communication sector

Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/ - The importance of combating misinformation and the promotion of a coherent public communication, focused on citizens, has been discussed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean with Executive Director for Government Communication of the United Kingdom Ale Aiken and Ambassador of the UK to Moldova Steven Fisher. The officials expressed openness for the boosting of the bilateral cooperation, focused on the combating of the hybrid threats, as well as on the promotion of country companies internationally, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The PM said the authorities were making efforts and protecting the domestic information space from manipulation and foreign propaganda. Also, according to the prime minister, one of the government’s goals is to promote the European values shared by Moldova’s citizens, the economic and social benefits of the country’s integration into the European Union.
‘’Internationally, it is necessary that we promote opportunities provided by Moldova, including for foreign investors. Only through joint effort and through informing the citizens about the advantages of the European integration, we will be able achieve our basic goal – to edify Europe at home. We want to have European roads, quality public services and prosperous businesses,’’ PM Dorin Recean said.
The officials agreed on continuing the exchange of experience with the United Kingdom in the public communication sector.
