Chisinau, 24 March /MOLDPRES/ - The National Art Museum of Moldova, in partnership with the National Brukenthal Museum from Sibiu, Romania, and the Mihai Eminescu National Cultural Institute in Chisinau, inaugurated an exhibition titled, Romanian artists all over the world, in Chisinau on 23 March.
Attending the event were Culture Minister Sergiu Prodan, a Romanian presidential adviser, Sergiu Nistor, the state secretary of the Romanian Department for Relation with Moldova, Adrian Dupu, Romania’s Ambassador to Moldova Cristian-Leon Turcanu, the president of the Romanian Cultural Institute, Liviu Jicman, the manager of the Brukenthal national Museum, Alexandru Chituta, as well as other officials.
In his speech, Culture Minister Sergiu Prodan said that this was the first painting exhibition in Romanian, as the official language has recently regained its correct name. ‘’We have an open culture, which communicates with the world,’’ Minister Sergiu Prodan stressed.
In the context, the president of the Romanian Cultural Institute, Liviu Jicman, emphasized that the task of this exhibition – emerging exhibition series – showed to the audience in Chisinau this spring, was to explore and celebrate the works of Romanian fine artists who, through their creative destiny, already belong to the entire world. ‘’Their work, now universal through various participations in a multitude of concerned events, admired in the country and abroad, was validated by critics, as well as by people fond of art from the private environment and represents the object of collections from all over the world. The exhibition proposes a travel through the history of the Romanian contemporary art, through the graphic work of its main protagonists and is set to provide an alternative view of the most emblematic artistic experiences starting from 1970s till present,’’ Liviu Jicman said.
The exhibition will be opened till 22 April.
