Moldovan parliament speaker participates in inauguration of busts of great political figures from Bessarabia, Romania

Chisinau, 27 March /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has participated in a ceremony on the unveiling of busts to Ion Inculet and Alexandru Marghiloman. The event took place in the central Ialoveni town, on the day when the 105th anniversary of Bessarabia’s Union with Romania is marked, the communication and public relations department has reported.
Attending the event were MPs of Moldovans parliament, President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Romanian parliament, Ion-Marcel Ciolacu, as well as representatives of the local public authorities from Moldova and Romania.
Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu stressed the important role of the former prime minister of Romania, Alexandru Marghiloman and the first president of the Country Council (local parliament of Bessarabia), Ion Inculet, in the process of Bessarabia’s Union with Romania.
„These two forerunners gave us a lesson of courage. Beyond the different doctrine-related visions, Alexandru Marghiloman and Ion Inculet took a historical decision. Therefore, I wish you, wish us, the political establishment, at the fit moment, to prove character and resolution and take historical decisions. As we do not do this for us; we do this for our children,’’ Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu said.
It is worth to be mentioned that, on 27 March 2018, the Country Council voted for Bessarabia’s Union with Romania.
