Chisinau, March 29 /MOLDPRES/- Insured citizens will benefit from the consultations of specialized doctors, from district and municipal hospitals, without a referral ticket issued by the family doctor. Thus, the need for additional appointments and unargued referrals will be excluded. At the same time, the range of free medical services will be expanded, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The expansion of the number of investigations and other changes to the Single Program of compulsory health care insurance were approved today by the Executive, at the proposal of the Ministry of Health.
Following the changes, patients with benign tumors will benefit free of charge, just like those with malignant diseases, from functional, aesthetic and psychological rehabilitation interventions. People will be provided with prostheses and implants, as well as the necessary supplies.
Program was completed with a series of new medical services, in order to detect some diseases early, but also to establish the conduct of treatment and rehabilitation. Thus, for the first time, access to medico-genetic assistance services will be offered through the mandatory medical assistance insurance system, for the early identification of some diseases.
The category of patients who can benefit from computed tomography with positron emission, for the detection of unknown primary tumors, has also been expanded. Previously, to carry out the investigation, people had to go abroad, but once the institutions are equipped with medical equipment, they can be carried out for free in the country.
In total, 46 new medical services, which are free of charge for insured persons, have been included in the single program of mandatory health insurance.
