Chisinau, Apr. 7 /MOLDPRES/- The Action and Solidarity Party today issued a statement of support for the party's deputy head Andrei Spînu, after he mentioned in an interview that there are corrupt people in law enforcement who try to denigrate him.
"Recently, Andrei Spînu has been subjected to denigrations and dirty forgeries by fugitives and criminal groups affiliated with Kremlin. Andrei Spînu is a key member of the PAS leadership and had a major role in the electoral victories of 2020 and 2021. As a branch minister in Gavrilița government, Spînu played a key role in strengthening the energy independence of the Republic of Moldova and overcoming with brio of the unprecedented Russian energy blackmail to which our country was subjected in the last two winters. We strongly condemn these attempts to denigrate our colleague. Andrei Spînu will continue to play an essential role in our country's effort to become a member of the EU in the shortest possible time. Justice reform will continue and be completed. We are determined to cleanse the system of the corrupt elements bred by past oligarchic regimes," the PAS statement reads.
Yesterday, the former deputy prime minister gave an interview in which he mentioned that several law enforcement officers are actually part of the real estate mafia and should leave the system. "For me it's serious because I talked about the real estate mafia, I personally sent documents to CNA and no results. Everything is hidden". He added that there are interested persons who started a real smear campaign against him, and he learned some information about the initiated investigations from the media or from fugitive politicians.
