Cimişlia hosts Flower Festival

Chisinau, April 9 /MOLDPRES/- Dozens of horticultural producers from different districts of the Republic of Moldova are participating today in Cimişlia Flower Festival exhibition-fair. The event, organized by the local authorities, has become traditional in the south of the country, but also at the national level, and will gather thousands of visitors throughout the day.
"This festival is dedicated to the promotion and support of flower growers, and aims to identify the prospects for the development and commercialization of ornamental plants", Cimişlia mayor Sergiu Andronachi said.
The festival agenda includes exhibitions selling flowers, decorative trees and shrubs, seed material, floral gastronomic products, exhibitions of handicrafts and goods of folk craftsmen, tools and equipment for work in the flower garden, master-classes for flower care, competitions thematic etc. All this will be accompanied by concert programs supported by local artists.
The first edition of the event was held in 2014. So far, the exhibition has recorded relevant successes. Starting with no more than 20 participants, over the years the festival brings together dozens of specialized companies that compete. At the same time, forestry enterprises come to the exhibition in Cimişlia with offers from the latest achievements of tree and decorative shrub nurseries. An expected presence is the participation of horticulturists from Romania, who in previous years demonstrated interesting things to their colleagues across the Prut.
