New CSM members started activity today

Chisinau, May 2. /MOLDPRES/- The four magistrates elected by the General Assembly of Judges as members of the Superior Council of Magistracy /CSM/ started their activity today. Also today, the CSM members voted for their removal from their old jobs.
Also, the CSM members also accepted the resignation requests of some judges.
On Friday, April 28, over 300 magistrates who participated in the General Assembly of Judges elected four members who will represent them in the CSM and an alternate member. Thus, in the list of candidates for the position of member in the Superior Council of Magistracy were included the judges who passed the evaluation before the independent Commission for evaluating the integrity of candidates for the position of member in the self-administration bodies of judges and prosecutors.
Following the voting, the following magistrates were elected as members of the CSM: Vasile Șchiopu from the Ungheni District Court with 220 votes, Ioana Chironeț from the Chisinau District Court, Center headquarters - 215 votes, Sergiu Caraman from the Criuleni District Court - 185 votes, Maria Frunze from the Chisinau Court, Center headquarters - 158 votes. Mitrofan Livia from the Chisinau District Court, Center headquarters, was elected as an alternate member of the Superior Council of Magistracy - 148 votes.
