Chisinau-based Zoo marks 45 years of work

Chisinau, 8 May /MOLDPRES/ - The Zoological Garden from Chisinau will mark 45 years of work on 9 May. On this occasion, the institution will organize diverse contests, an entertaining show with animators and dances, prizes and presents for children and guests.
The Zoo’s administration informed that people bearing the family names Ursu, Lupu, Zaițev, Volkov would have free of charge access to the Zoological Garden, upon presentation of the identity card.
According to the Chisinau city hall, over 140 professionals work at the Zoological Garden, who daily take care of those over 430 beings, 50 species of birds, including ornamental birds, birds predators and breeding birds.
Zebras, Hungarian steppe bulls or llamas are born at the Chisinau Zoo each year. The most impressive section is the one of predators. Visitors can see brown bear swimming in a lake, African lions and more Bengal tigers.
Over 23 million lei was allocated from the municipal budget for the Zoo’s work for the 2020-2023 years.
