Chisinau, May 10. /MOLDPRES/- Four schools and an arts college on the left bank of the Dniester will use virtual reality (VR) glasses in lessons. This was announced today by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), which will implement the project with the support of the EU Confidence- Building Measures program.
"VR glasses really involve children in the educational process. When a child is simply asked in a geography lesson, for example, to tell something about Paris, he does it, but without much interest. Instead, when he takes a virtual tour of the city through the VR glasses, then he will tell through his impressions", Alexandr Vasilii, manager of the Digital Transformation Association in Tiraspol said.
In addition to the purchase of VR glasses, 18 teachers from the left bank of the Dniester benefited from IT training.
Thus, more than 500 children have used VR glasses in English, geography, history or design lessons, and by the end of 2023, the number of students who will test the equipment will reach 2,000.
The Confidence Building Measures program, financed by the European Union and implemented by UNDP, contributes to the strengthening of trust between the inhabitants of both banks of the Dniester river, by involving them in joint development projects.
