Chisinau, May 12. /MOLDPRES/- Cooperation in gas, electricity, decarbonization and encouragement of bilateral investments and commercial relations were the topics of the discussion between Minister of Energy Victor Parlicov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Konstantinos Fragogiannis.
According to Parlicov, Moldova is interested in taking over Greece's experience in decarbonization, including the production of green hydrogen. "For us, the biggest potential is energy efficiency measures and the greening of transport, which represent about 50 and 35% of energy consumption, respectively. We are also awaiting the launch of Alexandroupolis liquefied natural gas terminal, a significant project for the energy security of South-Eastern Europe and the Balkans", said Parlicov.
Being in Chisinau on the occasion of the meeting of the Moldovan-Hellenic Intergovernmental Commission, the Greek official expressed full support for the European aspirations of the Republic of Moldova and admiration for the courage and decisions of the Chisinau authorities in the context of Russian aggression in Ukraine.
The sides also discussed the cooperation between the state enterprises Energocom and DEPA, including in the field of gas purchases for the needs of the Republic of Moldova, and the transportation and storage in underground warehouses in Ukraine to ensure the energy security of the EU.
