10.4 million euros to be invested in modernizing infrastructure of universities and pedagogical colleges

Chisinau, May 16. /MOLDPRES/- Universities and pedagogical colleges in our country will benefit from funding for the modernization and equipment of classrooms, laboratories and research centers. This will be possible after the second call for proposals was launched today in Chisinau as part of Moldova Higher Education Project, implemented by the Ministry of Education and Research and financed by the World Bank. The applications can be submitted by June 30, and 10.4 million euros will be allocated for the implementation of the projects.
Minister of Education and Research Anatolie Topală said that higher education institutions can access funding of up to 3.5 million euros, and pedagogical colleges can obtain up to 900 thousand euros. The money will be able to be invested in infrastructure, equipping laboratories, research centers, learning environments and modernizing the content taught to students and pupils.
The fields eligible are educational sciences, medicine, engineering, information technologies, chemical sciences, biological sciences, environmental sciences, physical sciences, mathematics and statistics, agricultural sciences and veterinary medicine.
Moldova Higher Education project was launched in 2020 and provides systemic interventions to improve the quality, financing and management of higher education.
