Exhibition dedicated to first wave of Stalinist deportations inaugurated at Moldovan parliament's headquarters

Chisinau, 12 June /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament’s museum hosts an exhibition dedicated to the tragic events which marked Moldova’s history, in the context of commemorating the victims of the deportations.
According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, the exhibition of documents and photos titled, The Calvary of Deportations, contains the original files and lists of the deported people on the period of the Soviet totalitarian regime, documents of the people subjected to political repressions from different settlements of the country, the lists of the people convicted by military tribunals, as well as memories of deported people.
Among the documents displayed, there is an extract from the plan on the carrying out of the operation of deportation of the ‘’anti-Soviet elements’’ from the Susleni settlement, central Orhei district and the list of ‘’anti-Soviet elements’’ from the central Calarasi district.
The exhibition is organized by the parliament, in cooperation with the National Agency of Archives and can be visited till late next July.
Eighty two years have passed since the first wave of Soviet deportations from Bessarabia and North Bucovina, which took place on the night of 12 to 13 June 1941.
