Over 300 doctors attend 8th Congress of urology, dialysis and renal transplant

Chisinau, June 13 /MOLDPRES/- Over 300 doctors met in Chisinau to discuss current issues in urology, nephrology, dialysis and kidney transplant. The program of activities included reports from the State of the Art Lectures, two poster sessions on Current issues in andrology. Urogenital infection. Varia and Current issues in urolithiasis, endourology and oncology, as well as video presentations.
The Congress was organized by the Moldovan Society of Urology and the Balkan Medical Union in partnership with USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu" and was held under the auspices of the Ministry of Health.
The scientific events were inaugurated by Congress head, USMF "Nicolae Testemițanu" rector Emil Ceban. He welcomed the participants and pointed out the importance of the meeting of the Balkan medical community for the local health system, as well as for science and medical education in the Republic of Moldova.
"We hope that the approach to the most current issues on health and the exchange of experiences between different specialized schools will contribute to the establishment and development of new relations of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation in the future and will provide new opportunities for the development of scientific research in the medical and pharmaceutical sector. Also, this will favor the continuous education of highly qualified medical staff, will increase the quality of specialized medical assistance provided to the population and respectively will bring closer the day when the Republic of Moldova will become a member country of the European Union", said the rector.
Attending the event was Health Minister Ala Nemerenco, who voiced confidence that the specialists will have an exchange of experience both at the level of knowledge and research, as well as in medical practice. The official stressed the imperative of the exchange of innovations and their implementation in the medical act. She reiterated that the major objective of the institution she leads is to equip all hospitals, especially district ones, to modernize their infrastructure, to adjust clinical protocols, to develop joint projects with the World Health Organization and the human resources component in health, in all these reforms relying on the support of the medical community. "Scientific progress must not be one step behind the development of the Republic of Moldova. The country's agenda is an ambitious one, starting from the political one working on the European association, and our health agenda must be at the same level - to rise to the same standards as our colleagues from the European states", the official said.
The 8th Congress of Urology is organized once every four years and represents the most important scientific-practical forum for specialists in this field.
