Chisinau, June 14. /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu participated last night in the premiere of a documentary that reflects the life of Ukrainians during the war, the presidential press service has reported.

"I was very excited to participate tonight in the premiere of a film that left no one indifferent among those present in Odeon screening room - the documentary "The Road to War. Irpin", made by two truly fearless journalists - Viorica Tătaru and Andrei Captarenco", said the head of state.

According to the testimonies of the makers of the documentary, on February 24, 2022, Andrei Captarenco was arrested in Mariupol, and Viorica - in Odesa, being there on regular business trips. They didn't have helmets, they didn't have bulletproof vests, but they were morally prepared to be on the front lines, to tell the truth about the war to the public at home.

"After a year of being around the front or behind it, Viorica and Andrei came with a vivid and shocking testimony of the atrocities that are still happening today in Ukraine. But they also came with a moving testimony of courage, of human warmth, of the ability of Ukrainians to live even when bombs fall, when houses and lives are destroyed. In their film, Viorica and Andrei showed the appreciation of the present moment, the love and the strength to find the slightest glimmer of beauty even in dramatic conditions. I admired the courage and heroism of the Moldovan volunteers who are fighting in Ukraine and who, through their determined actions, are defending not only the neighboring country, but also our peace", said the president.

The head of state claims that this documentary must be watched by every citizen of the Republic of Moldova. It is a film that must be seen in every locality, in every family", says Maia Sandu.
