National Agency for Land Improvement to be set up in Moldova

Chisinau, June 14. /MOLDPRES/- Government has approved the creation of a new authority to implement policies in the land improvement, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.

The agency will be established through the transformation of the Moldovan Sustainable Development Fund, taking over the duties of "Apele Moldovei" Agency and the Land and Cadastre Agency. The basic responsibilities of the new Agency include managing the field of soil conservation, improvement and fertility enhancement.

"The institution will be subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry. It will have the responsibility to implement policies in the field of land improvements and carry out investment projects in centralized irrigation systems", said Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea.
