Chisinau, 23 June /MOLDPRES/ - Another three infrastructure projects included in the European Village programme have been finished. The government allocated about five million lei (250,000 euros) for their implementation.

Thus, the water supply system from the Maiscoe village, northern Floresti district, was modernized. The project envisaged the construction of three km of networks of aqueduct and the setting of a water tower. The system provides drinking water to 244 residents from 136 households. The overall investment in the project was of 2.6 million lei, earmarked by the cabinet.

At the same time, the Branzenii Noi village, central Telenesti district, was fully illuminated; about 11 km of network was built, with an investment of almost 800,000 lei. Now, about 2,600 residents benefit from light on streets. The kindergarten was rehabilitated and endowed in the same settlement. With the government’s support, about 100 children benefit from better conditions at education institutions. The project’s value is about 1.5 million lei from the national fund of regional and local development.

„Our goal is to improve the people’s living standards. We know their needs: to have water, light and heat. Thus, these projects prove the authorities’ commitment, as the properly illuminated streets reduce the risk of accidents, offences and unpleasant incidents, enhancing the degree of people’s safety,’’ the director of the National Office of Regional and Local Development (ONDRL), Mihail Croitoru, said.

According to the progress report issued by ONDRL, 131 projects out of those 496 approves ones have been successfully finished within the European Village National Programme.
