Moldovan president meets members of commission for extraordinary evaluation of judges

Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with the members of the commission for the extraordinary evaluation of judges. The head of state thanked the commission members for having accepted to help the leadership carry out the justice reform, the presidential press service has reported.

The Moldovan president stressed that the judges’ evaluation was an important stage in the march of the reform and would contribute to the reestablishment of people’s confidence in the integrity of the judges and the law-enforcement institutions.

The country’s modernization, the economic growth and the acceleration of the process of accession to EU depend, to a great extent, on the transformation and cleaning of the justice sector of corruption. For this process to be efficient and quick, the involvement of the entire society is needed, especially of the judges who do their job honestly, Maia Sandu added.
