Moldovan, French parliaments to deepen cooperation under Memorandum of Understanding

Chisinau, June 30. /MOLDPRES/-Moldovan Parliament and the National Assembly of France signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The document was signed today in Chisinau by Speaker Igor Grosu and French National Assembly President Yaël Braun-Pivet.

Grosu said that under the agreement signed today, the collaboration between the parliamentary groups will be enhanced, and the cooperation between the parliamentary committees will be deepened. "We will organize meetings and joint activities to harmonize the legislation of the Republic of Moldova with that of the EU. We will increase cooperation within the delegations from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie and that of the Council of Europe, of the OSCE. This visit proves to us one more time that Moldova is not alone, we have sincere and reliable friends", he said.

The French official said that currently there is a close collaboration between the leadership of the two countries that will be deepened even more. Moldova must work on reforms to be closer to European integration.

Yaël Braun-Pivet pays an official visit to Chisinau on June 29 - July 1. It is the first visit to the Republic of Moldova by a president of the National Assembly of France in the 31 years since the establishment of Moldovan-French diplomatic relations.
