National Assembly President delivers speech in Chisinau parliament

Chisinau, June 30. /MOLDPRES/- National Assembly President of France Yaël Braun-Pivet today sent a message of support for Moldova from the rostrum of the Parliament in Chisinau. In the speech delivered in today's plenary session, the official said "Moldova is part of the great European family".

The French official welcomed our country's European integration efforts and emphasized that France remains a solid supporter on the road to the EU. "The Republic of Moldova is modernizing, transforming, preparing to enter the European Union, and France welcomes its efforts: those it has already achieved and those it must undertake to implement the nine recommendations of the European Commission. The Commission's recent verbal assessment of the progress made by your country is also very positive and I am happy about that," added Yaël Braun-Pivet.

French official referred to the reforms started by our country, the progress made, as well as the challenges that must be overcome to ensure the independence of the judiciary, the fight against corruption, the strengthening of economic competition, the administration of public finances, cooperation with civil society and protecting human rights.

The official also spoke about the challenges our country is facing in the context of the war in Ukraine, welcoming the generosity with which both the authorities and the people received so many Ukrainian refugees.

Grosu expressed gratitude for the solidarity shown by France and for the important support commitments of our country. He said that, through joint efforts, the Parliament together with the Government managed to maintain peace and stability, continue the implementation of reforms, advance on the road to the European Union, strengthen energy resilience, help the most vulnerable and improve border security.
