Eight other states join sanctions set on people contributing to destabilization of situation in Moldova

Chisinau, June 30. /MOLDPRES/- North Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina – candidate states to join the EU, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway – member countries of the European Economic Area align with the European Council's decision to sanction people "who would be participated in destabilizing actions in the Republic of Moldova".
Among the sanctioned persons are: Gheorghe Cavcaliuc, Marina Tauber, Vladimir Andronachi, Veaceslav Platon, Constantin Botnari, Aleksandr Kalinin and Grigore Caramalac.
On April 28, the European Council set a new framework for specific restrictive measures against private people "who undermine or threaten the sovereignty and independence of the Republic of Moldova, or democracy, the rule of law, stability or security in Moldova, as well as private people or legal entities or bodies associated with them".
The above-mentioned persons were also included in the list of sanctions approved by the Commission for Emergency Situations, and the financial transactions carried out by them on the territory of the Republic of Moldova will be subject to a more rigorous control.
