Chisinau, 30 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Constitutional Court (CC) has turned down the validation of the MP mandate for an alternate candidate on the list of the Shor Political Party for Vladimir Vitiuc.
Under CC’s ruling, a notification by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) on the validation of the mandate of Moldova’s lawmaker, assigned to Vladimir Vitiuc, is declared inadmissible.
„Under its decision from 19 June this year, CC declared the Shor Political Party as unconstitutional and cancelled the list of alternate candidates of the formation, earlier validated. The Court ruled that, if a MP mandate assigned to the Shor Political Party is or becomes vacant on the date when this ruling is pronounced, this mandate remains vacant during the entire 11th legislation period and the Constitutional Court will not validate any mandate in this respect,’’ the CC’s ruling reads.
The decision is final, cannot be subjected to any appeal, enters into force on the date of its adoption and is published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
Vladimir Vitiuc is an alternate candidate on the list of the Shor Political Party. CEC submitted the notification to the Constitutional Court, after Ilan Shor had been deprived of his lawmaker mandate.
