Border policeman Serghei Muntean one of persons dead in the wake of armed attack at Chisinau Airport

Chisinau, 30 June /MOLDPRES/ - Border policeman Serghei Muntean is one of the persons dead in the wake of the armed attack which occurred at the Chisinau International Airport. The Border Police conveyed a message of condolences to the man’s family.   

According to the border authorities, the chief agent Muntean Serghei was 31 years old and worked at the institution since 2011.  

„With deep sorrow, we inform about the death, while fulfilling the job duties, of our colleague Serghei Muntean. The border policeman is the victim of the today’s aggressor, who made use of the fire arm and made two victims. The Border Police employees are deeply grieved by the tragic death of the colleague and share the sadness of all those who knew him. In these difficult moments, we convey condolences to the family, friends and fellows, accompanied by our thoughts of consolation and encouraging,’’ reads a message issued by the Border Police.    

The authority conveyed a message of condolences on the passing away of the dead person, who was member of the aviation security. ‘’The team of the Border Police comes up with a message of condolences to the mourning family; may good God brings relief and gives strength to overcome these moments,’’ the message reads.  

Two persons – a border policeman and an airport security employee, today were shot dead by a foreign citizen, who had been banned from entering the country.  Another person, passenger, is wounded and is cared by physicians.

Policemen annihilated the aggressor. He was wounded and receives medical care. The man who made the shots is a citizen of Tajikistan aged 43.
