National Aviation Security Committee of Moldova holds extraordinary meeting, experts' group set up

Chisinau, 1 July /MOLDPRES/ - The National Aviation Security Committee (CNSA) today held an extraordinary meeting, in order to analyze and identify all circumstances and actions related to the tragic accident which took place at the Chisinau International Airport.
The participants in the meeting ruled to set up a working group, made up of experts in the security and public order sector, with the participation of all competent institutions in the aviation security field.
The working group is to elaborate a string of decisions, recommendations and proposals, which regard the good carrying out of the activities at airports and ensuring of a proper level of security and public order at the Chisinau International Airport.
The CNSA is made up of representatives of the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry, Defence Ministry, Interior Ministry, Intelligence and Security Service, State Protection and Guard Service, Civil Aviation Authority, State Enterprise MoldATSA, State Enterprise Marculesti International Airport and more air companies.
Two persons – a border policeman and an airport security employee, were shot dead by a foreign citizen at the Chisinau International Airport on 30 June, who had been banned from entering the country. The aggressor was detained. He was wounded during the detaining and is presently in serious condition.
