Authorities' reform agenda examined at meeting between speaker and Moldovan citizens settled in Belgium

Chisinau, July 5. /MOLDPRES/- Visiting Brussels, Speaker Igor Grosu met with a group of Moldovan citizens residing in the Kingdom of Belgium, the parliament's communication and public relations department has reported.
Igor Grosu spoke about the authorities' actions and the reform agenda. "Although we have a more complicated political context, we are determined to carry out all the reforms that have been started," he said.
He referred to the authorities' efforts to achieve the goal of initiating negotiations on Moldova's accession to the EU by the end of the year. In this context, he thanked the Moldovans settled in Belgium because on May 21, they came to the Embassy of our country in Brussels to express their desire to be part of the European family. "The year 2023 must remain in history. For this we must be united. Wherever we are, let's work for the good of our country. With small, sure, united steps we will succeed", Grosu said.
On July 3-5, the speaker is on an official visit to Brussels. He met with the leadership of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Belgium. The visit's agenda also includes meetings with President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola, European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi, European Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms Elisa Ferreira, as well as with several MEPs. Also, he met with NATO Deputy General Secretary Mircea Geoană.
