Moldovan president meets representatives of Association of Women Entrepreneurs

Chisinau, July 5. /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu met today with several businesswomen, members of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs in Moldova (AFAM).

According to the presidential press service, the issues included female entrepreneurship, obstacles faced by women in starting and managing a business, as well as opportunities for women's economic empowerment. Maia Sandu appreciated AFAM's contribution to providing advisory assistance and mentoring to women to develop their entrepreneurial skills. One of the topics of discussion was increasing support for women in business, as well as the actions taken to develop a business environment that is favorable for both women and men.

Recently, the government has taken several actions to support the business environment in general: the Organization for Entrepreneurship Development (ODA) was reorganized more efficiently, the Fund for Entrepreneurship and Economic Growth of Moldova (FACEM) was set up and the 373 Program was launched, which facilitates companies' access to advantageous loans. Other measures include reducing bureaucracy and mutual recognition of authorized economic agents between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union. Access to support for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises has also improved.

Maia Sandu reiterated commitment to promoting gender equality and creating a favorable environment for female entrepreneurs. The president will continue to promote policies and measures that facilitate the development and success of women in business, recognizing their significant contribution to the economy and prosperity of the country.
