Pre-Vetting Commission: Two more candidates for positions in CSP passed assessment

Chisinau, July 6. /MOLDPRES/- Pre-Vetting Commission announced today that prosecutors Aliona Nesterov and Eduard Panea, candidates for membership in the Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) passed the evaluation. According to the Commission, the two candidates meet the criteria of financial and ethical integrity.
Detailed information about the result of the checks is set in the decisions sent today to the candidates and CSP, the institution responsible for organizing the competition, in this case.
Candidates can accept or refuse the publication of reasoned decisions. If within 48 hours of receiving the decisions, they do not notify the Commission of their refusal to publish, the decisions will be placed on the Commission's website, in a depersonalized form. The decisions of the Pre-Vetting Commission have the right of appeal and can be appealed to the Supreme Court of Justice within 5 days from the date of reception, without observing the prior procedure.
Candidate Aliona Nesterov, deputy of acting General Prosecutor was heard by the Pre-Vetting Commission in the first round of hearings, and Eduard Panea, chief prosecutor of Leova Prosecutor's Office, in the second round of hearings, from May, 2023.
According to the preliminary data regarding the extraordinary assessment of candidates for the CSP, out of 18 candidates registered in the competition, eight passed the assessment, eight did not pass, and two candidates are awaiting the Commission's decisions.
