Border police officers to attend anti-terrorist training courses

Chisinau, July 7. /MOLDPRES/- First anti-terrorist training course for border guards will be launched on July 10. The head of the General Inspectorate of the Border Police, Rosian Vasiloi, made the statement today.
According to him, the officers involved in the course will have modern equipment and weaponry. "The attack on Serghei Muntean requires intervention decisions on the structure, so as to ensure an anti-terrorist training component of the staff, which will become a priority - the lives of border policemen and citizens in transit through border points must be protected with any price. The first course will be launched on July 10. Thus, measures were ordered per system to speed up the improvement of the military training and endow with modern equipment to deal with terrorist threats. In all these activities we benefit from the support of our partners from FRONTEX, the USA, Romania, Ukraine, Poland, Latvia and Lithuania", wrote Rosian Vasiloi on a social network.
At the same time, the head of the Border Police ordered the initiation of a service investigation, which was combined with the procedure initiated by the specialized subdivision of the MAI. "We are fully involved in the complex control of the operational and organizational activities related to the Chisinau International Airport border crossing point, initiated by the MAI. We provide all the necessary support in the criminal investigation initiated by the General Prosecutor's Office", said Rosian Vasiloi.
Serghei Muntean and Igor Ciofu died on June 30 at Chisinau International Airport, after being shot by a foreign citizen, who was not allowed to enter the country. The attacker died at the hospital, as a result of the injuries during the arrest.
