Customs Service collected over 644 million lei last week

Chisinau, July 10. /MOLDPRES/- On July 3-9, the Customs Service collected over 644 million lei (about 32.2 million euros) to the state budget.
During the period, private people introduced goods whose customs value exceeded the non-taxable limit, and payments totaling over 18.6 million lei were collected, which represents 2.8% of the total amount. The money collected from taxpayers is paid directly into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.
The past week, 11,396 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport was 81,127 crossings. The most transited customs posts remain Leușeni and Sculeni, with 21,077 and 15,133 crossings, respectively.
In the fight against fraud, 56 violations of customs legislation were found and fines of over 118 thousand lei were applied.
Since the beginning of this year, the Customs Service has collected about 17 billion lei to the state budget, up by 3.8% compared to the same period last year.
